Gordon Lightfoot sang Wherefore and Why as we flew over the bright blue waters of the Turks & Caicos Islands. It was on a CD from someone’s private collection that we borrowed for the trip; a great playlist called Songs of the Lesser Antilles. We were in a seaplane headed for Saint Barths.
That song became one of my go-to favorites to play on Monday mornings or on an afternoon drive around the beach.
Gordon Lightfoot died yesterday. I’m grateful for him and all of his music, and that I got to hear him in concert. I’ll keep listening.
